If this isn’t your first application to be rejected, or you’ve previously re-applied, you can try again after a 90-day period. All YPP applications are serviced in the order they’re received by us. Keep in mind delays are possible due to higher-than-usual application volumes, system issues, or resource limitations. Check back in the Earn section of YouTube Studio anytime to see the status of your application. Once done, you’ll see In Progress in the Get Reviewed step, which means we have your application! Once you understand what you need to join, your channel can become eligible for YPP with either Shorts or long-form video.

How you can become eligible

We’ve expanded the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) to more creators with earlier access to fan funding and Shopping features. Click the button below to troubleshoot or learn about your YouTube bill. Your payment gives you access to YouTube TV for the next month. You can update your billing and payment info for your YouTube TV subscription and any add-ons you’ve purchased.

If you’ve hit the limit, you’ll need to free up a slot by removing downloads from unused devices. If you’ve reached your limit, you’ll need to connect to Wi-Fi or purchase more data to download videos.

Note that a channel needs to complete all the YPP signup steps (which currently include signing the contract and associating an AdSense for YouTube account) before they will be reviewed. If you’ve met the threshold and applied for YPP, we’ll still review your channel for YPP suitability. Every channel that meets the threshold will go through a standard review process. Keep in mind that any public watch hours from Shorts views in the Shorts Feed don’t count towards the 4,000 public watch hours threshold. After choosing how you want to monetize, you’ll be able to manage ad preferences, turn on monetization for your uploads, and more.

To turn on monetization features, you’ll need to review and accept the relevant module terms. Sometimes channels require multiple reviews, especially when several reviewers disagree on your channel’s suitability for YPP. We’ll get back to you with a decision once your channel is reviewed (typically in about 1 month). Once you accept YPP terms and link an active AdSense for YouTube account, your channel will automatically be put in a review queue. The YouTube Partner Program (YPP) gives creators greater access to YouTube resources and monetization features, and access to our Creator Support teams.

Our team will review your channel as a whole to check whether your channel meets our YouTube channel monetization policies. Our automated systems and human reviewers will review your channel as a whole to make sure your channel follows all of our policies and guidelines. Keep in mind we continuously check channels in YPP to make sure they continue to meet our policies and guidelines over time. Once you apply, your channel will go through a standard review process to see whether your channel meets our policies and guidelines. If it meets our policies and guidelines, we’ll accept your channel into YPP.

If you’re having trouble downloading videos on your internet browser or mobile device, follow the troubleshooting steps below. Your channel also must not have any active Community Guidelines strikes in order to apply. Current members of the program won’t be removed when receiving Community Guidelines strikes.

What if I don’t meet the program threshold?

These thresholds help us make a more informed decision about whether your channel meets our policies and guidelines. Channels will lose monetization when they violate any of the YouTube channel monetization policies.
